State Of Play 2022 kicked off with a new announcement for Exoprimal, a futuristic dinosaur shoot ’em up game from Capcom. It is slated to release in 2023 on PS4 and PS5.
Check out the reveal trailer for the game below:
Set in the year 2043, Exoprimal puts players in the role of Exofighters who work for a corporation named Aibius. Exofighters wear Exosuits—armour resembling that of Samus’ Power Suit from Metroid or Warframes from Warframe—to deal with dinosaurs popping out from portals in a horde-like manner. Aibius produces “dinosaur forecasts” which predict where these portals appear and promptly sends the Exofighters to eliminate the threat and save humanity.
It isn’t just all guns, as players have access to other weapons and abilities such as blades or shields, depending on their Exosuit.
At the end of the trailer, a massive T-Rex looking creature can be seen charging at the Exofighters. The trailer seems to hint at online co-op multiplayer being available, however none of this is confirmed.
Whereas the original Dino Crisis from Capcom is an arcade shooter with a first-person perspective, Exoprimal is a third-person shooter. All we can do is stay tuned for more details on this new IP.
