Capcom showed off a new trailer for Exoprimal today, shedding light on the game’s plot as well as announcing a closed beta for the upcoming co op shooter.
The Closed Beta for Exoprimal will have three different sessions– the first of which will be held only for US/Canada residents on July 11th, while two more will be held for global audiences on July 25th and August 7th.
We also got a closer look at two new exosuits- one close-range shooter, Barrage as well as the previously shown sniper-type exosuit, Vigilant from the first trailer.
In the trailer, we’re finally introduced to Leviathan- an AI mentioned in the game’s debut trailer, who invites the player to Bikitoa Island for a “Live combat test”.
Assuming the dialogue from the trailer is from the game’s actual story, it looks like Leviathan starts to take a page out of GladOS’ book and starts turning sadistic- throwing harder and harder challenges at pilots which unfortunately involve hordes of dinosaurs.
Based on the title cards in the trailer, these are the current known mission types featured in the trailer:
- Dinosaur Cull (Kill all the dinosaurs)
- VTOL Defense (wave-based defense)
- Data Key Security (Payload escort)
- Omega Charge (Capture points)
While it’s been previously announced, we also get a glimpse of the game’s PvP- where rather than being a straight team fight, you’ll have to fight off other exopilots while also completing your main objectives.
The website mentions that enemy teams will be present no matter your mission, and it’ll be up to you whether or not to engage with them if it’ll help you be the first team to complete your objectives.
