Konami announced an exclusive partnership with UEFA that will name eFootball PES 2020 as the official videogame of the upcoming EURO 2020 tournament. The partnership will see free DLC for the game in Q2 2020.
Over 50 national football associations will also be included in eFootball PES 2020 at launch, in addition to the UEFA agreement. National teams, like current champion Portugal, will be in.
With the license agreements, the main game and upcoming UEFA EURO 2020 DLC will include national team kits, crests and players. Look forward to them being faithfully recreated in game ahead of the real-world tournament June next year.
Guy Laurent-Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA said:
“We are very pleased to continue and extend our working partnership with KONAMI. UEFA EURO 2020 provides an
opportunity to build an even closer working relationship, allowing us to activate it in new and exciting
ways, and to engage with our mutual fans around the world.
The UEFA EURO 2020 tournament is also born. Played exclusively on eFootball PES 2020, this brand new esports tournament will see European football associations across the region submitting representatives to compete. The top 16 will be from online qualifiers. Players will then qualify for a physical event in London for the semi-finals and final of UEFA EURO 2020.
Esports is at the heart of this collaboration. With such a unique setup, this event should introduce the fast growing world of esports, and to eFootball PES 2020.
The Official UEFA EURO 2020 DLC will be free for all platforms in Q2 2020. Further information on gameplay and availability will be shared next year.
