Close to a year since its original teaser, Ex Astris has finally gotten an update in announcing an alpha test, with applications now being accepted. You can find the announcement on bilibili here.
This Ex Astris alpha test will be a small-scale, offline test and is subject to non-disclosure agreements. Interested participants can fill up a questionnaire provided in the bilibili post from 12 August 2022, 11:00 GMT+8 to 15 August 2022, 23:59 GMT+8. The description notes that the game is still in an early development phase and is only open to residents in Shanghai due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Successful applicants will be duly contacted according to the information provided in the form.
It is likely that there will be a showcase at Tokyo Game Show as Hypergryph also had a booth there to showcase their alpha gameplay. Seeing that the game is still in early development at this stage, it’s unlikely the game will be coming out any time this year. As it is, we also have Arknights: Endfield to consider. Ex Astris is slated to be a paid title, while the Arknights spin-off will be free to start.
You can check out the English website for Ex Astris here, and see if there will be news about a more worldwide test whenever that will be.
