As the newest entry to the world of virtual pets, the Digimon Vital Bracelet makes use of special cards called Dim Cards to create Digimon. Without Dim Cards, the Vital Bracelet is merely a second-rate fitness tracker. This article will help keep you up to speed on Dim Cards, how they work and which ones are available.
Dim Cards contain the data of specific Digimon and their Digivolution lines. Note that each Dim Card binds itself to a specific Vital Bracelet. You cannot use the same Dim Card for two or more Vital Bracelets. We already tried it and we were greeted with an “error” description the moment we used a Dim Card that had already created Digimon in another bracelet. Thus, if you are planning on buying Dim Cards through unofficial resellers, be extremely careful not to buy a used one.
When you turn on your Vital Bracelet for the first time, you will need to insert a Dim Card into the port on the left side of the bracelet (the side without the buttons). In less than a minute, the screen should inform you to remove the card and upon doing so, your Digimon will hatch from a Digi-egg.
From that point onwards, you are free to use the step tracking and heart rate monitoring capabilities of the bracelet. As long as there is no active Digimon in the Vital Bracelet, inserting a Dim Card will create a Fresh/Baby Digimon.
At the time of writing, there are 10 Dim Cards launched for the Digimon Vital Bracelet. They are:
- Impulse City
- Ancient Warriors
- Agumon
- Gabumon
- Black Roar (trial)
- Shadow Howl (trial)
- Volcanic Beat
- Blizzard Fang
- Infinite Tide
- Titan of Dust
You can learn more about which Digivolution lines are available in the above Dim Cards by reading our previous article.
Note that out of the 10 Dim Cards, Black Roar and Shadow Howl are trial versions. Only 6 Digimon are available (7 including Jogress) within the trial versions, as opposed to 17 in a standard Dim Card.
Note that Black Roar and Shadow Howl are getting full versions in the future, with pre-orders currently available.
