Catch the beginning of the end as Studio Khara streams the first 12 minutes of Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time ahead of its new release date.
The movie comes out March 8th, 2021, after missing its original January release date earlier this year. In anticipation of the Japan-only release, fans all around the world can watch the first 12 minutes this weekend, via the Studio Khara YouTube channel. Fans can catch the preview at midnight, March 8th (11pm March 7th Malaysia time)
Additionally, Amazon Prime Video will also be streaming the three prior Rebuild movies, letting you catch up or relive the Evangelion movies in anticipation of Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time. There’s no way to check if it’ll be available for the SEA crowd for now, but the pages are currently accessible if you want to bookmark it when it premieres this weekend.
The first of the Rebuild movies starts March 5th, 7.00pm Malaysia time, kicking off with Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone. This is a simultaneous viewing event, so it’s not known if you can still watch it after the premiere is done. Since it’s being broadcast on the Japanese Amazon Prime Video channel, there’s no guarantee that it will be the subtitled version, so fans who can’t understand Japanese and haven’t seen the movies should probably take caution.
Thrice Upon A Time is the fourth entry in the Evangelion Rebuild Series, theatrical releases based on the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime. While the first sold itself as a compilation movie of sorts, the subsequent movies began to diverge drastically.
This isn’t the first time Studio Khara have shown off the early minutes of the new movie, though this preview will contain never-before seen footage of the upcoming movie.
