From the mecha anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion comes EVA Battlefields. This upcoming smartphone game is set for a 2020 release. The game will also be making an appearance at the Tokyo Games Show 2019. TGS 2019 will be at Makuhari Messe Convention Center, Chiba, Tokyo, from 12 – 15 September.
The notice on the official website implies the game will also have content from the 2020 Evangelion 3.0+1.0 theatrical release. It also mentions the game wants to deliver a new kind of gameplay to players, not solely smartphone users. It would seem attendees lucky enough to try out EVA Battlefields at TGS 2019 will also receive goodies. There is otherwise not much else known about the game itself.
Evangelion 3.0+1.0 will be the fourth and final movie of the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy. Neon Genesis Evangelion was a mecha anime that originally aired in 1995. With protagonist Shinji Ikari, viewers will follow him and other people piloting mecha called EVAs, the organization around them and the world 15 years after an apocalyptic event.
