Goro Taniguchi – whom you might recognize from Code Geass – has unveiled his original project, Establishment in Life, or “Establife” for short. Teasers including a key visual and trailer has likewise been released.
In this “Tokyo” reimagined by Goro Taniguchi, Establishment in Life sees humanoid races, from regular humans to beasts, cyborgs and demons live in these “clusters”, as part of experiments to “diversify”, and overseen by AI. It’s a multimedia project, with anime, mobile game and movie(s) slated for release.
Hiroyuki Hashimoto of Is the Order a Rabbit? will be directing the anime, with script from Shoji Gatoh of Full Metal Panic!, character designs from Yusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem, Pokemon Go, AI: The Somnium Files), music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa and produced by Polygon Pictures. The anime is planned for a April 2022 broadcast, with Crunchyroll named as the worldwide distributor.
In the mean time, the mobile game, Establife Unity Memories, will be produced by Square Enix. The movie, Establife Revenger’s Road, will have a separate story from the anime and the game.
Full details about the project at this stage can be found on their official website. You can also follow the official Twitter, as more details about the cast and project get revealed in time, starting 3 February 2022.
