Back in 2017, Idea Factory and Compile Heart announced a new game for mobile phones, Eshigami no Kizuna, that was to be released the following year in Japan from Sony’s subsidiary company ForwardWorks. After much delay, we will finally get the game to launch on 7 April 2020.
Eshigami no Kizuna is a collaboration with Tezuka Productions, the ones that brought us Astro Boy, which will feature illustrations from Compile Heart’s illustrator Tsunako (Neptunia series), Katsuyuki Hirano (Moero Crystal, Agarest War series), and Dakei Nanamei (Trillion: God of Destruction).
Incidentally, the game set in a world where illustrators have the powers to make their characters come to life fight one another. In order to fight against the god of destruction, players will be able to work together with Osamu Tezuka’s signature characters, who have been redesigned as various bishoujo.
Miyajima Takumi of Tales of the Abyss fame and Oomi Shinichi from Highester Company will be in charge of the story, while character scenarios will be handled by Kitajima Yukinori and Synthese of Senran Kagura. As you can see, the game has quite the pedigree behind it, as appears to have the same tongue-in-cheek appeal that Idea Factory and Compile Heart titles tend to have with such games. Whether it will end up being good or not remains to be seen, so let us look forward to that. For more information, be sure to drop by the official website.
