Episode 2 of highly anticipated Chainsaw Man anime has been recently aired and fans have leashes and scooby snacks at the ready for a certain office lady – Makima.
For manga readers, this certainly isn’t the first time that we’ve seen Makima’s bossy attitude. But for first time anime watchers, this second episode would shed some more light of the red flags that some might’ve missed out when the first episode dropped last week.
The first few minutes of episode two shows off Denji and Makima sitting at the back of a car, a continuation of where we had been left off in the first episode. During the small talk that was exchanged between the two, a certain line was said by Makima which has seemingly fired off the neurons of thousands of fans alike:
“I expect “yes” or “woof” for answers. I don’t need a dog that says “no”.”
Unsurprisingly, this one exactly line during that scene has left fans howling for more.
chainsaw man is a beautiful important work of art that conveys so much about the human condition and our inherant need to contextualise ourselves simultaneously through experiences of both profound joy and profound sorrow but also if makima wanted to step on me that would be fine

Funnily enough, there is a reason as to why Makima and other female characters in Chainsaw Man often share some similar characteristics between them, being bossy and unreasonable.
Thanks to twitter user klyescouter, they were able to translate an interview with Chainsaw Man author – Tatsuki Fujimoto where he mentions how he likes to draw bossy and unreasonable women.
Do you know why Tatsuki Fujimoto, author of Chainsaw man draws bossy, unreasonable women?
Because he likes this kind of woman.
He said in an interview,
"When a girl in University turned my bike over, I thought how happy I am"That's hilariousđŸ˜‚#chainsawman pic.twitter.com/YAI0riIm9X

Fujimoto says that during his time in university, there was a girl who was mean to him and had turned over his bicycle, which at that moment he thought of how happy he was that the situation happened to him.
