The PUBG Mobile Pro League / PMPL MY/SG 2020 Season 2 is powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, featuring a virtual studio, ushering a new era of production and broadcasting. Tencent is proud to bring in the virtual studio to one of the most popular esports competitions in Southeast Asia, raising the PMPL MY/SG production and broadcasting capabilities to new heights.
The tournament is fully online this season, with the realistic virtual studio aiming to close the gap between event and online audiences. With the theme “Esports Glory”, it strives to bring great visual impact and enjoyment to the audience:
- The studio is transformed into a traditional royal palace, but is filled with elements of PUBG MOBILE and esports, along with local elements of Malaysia and Singapore. Thus, turning itself into an innovative esports battle arena.
- The palace possesses two palatial castles: one for the emcee, and one for the commentators.
The virtual studio is powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, which is the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool. It is also the same technology that has powered AAA (or Triple-A) game titles. Notably, the virtual studio for PMPL MY/SG uses over 15 animations in its design (which is much more than the typical virtual studio event) and utilizes API from the league data system to receive instant data.
