Engage Kill is the mobile game arm of Project Engage. There’s not much details on the game itself at time of writing besides it being a joint work between Aniplex and Square Enix, but they have a visual of the main character, “Chloe Tan”, voiced by Arisa Kori and designed by Tsunako. Tsunako is best known for her work illustrating for Date-A-Live.
Aside from Engage Kill, Project Engage has an upcoming anime known as Engage Kiss, which will begin broadcast in July 2022, produced by A-1 Pictures. Fumiaki Maruto of How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend is also part of this project. It’s a completely new original project headlined by the author and illustrator duo, so there’s not much to go on from the anime angle either.
Engage Kiss is apparently a romantic comedy, spiced with demon extermination. Presumably, the game will be in the same vein, perhaps with more emphasis on the action judging by the name. Square Enix has had a hand in numerous multi-media projects and mobile game development, so perhaps one can be optimistic about its production quality.
More information about the game is slated for a livestream on 4 June. There’s no dedicated official account for the game as yet, so stay tuned to see if the future livestream will give more concrete details.
