After teasing us with a short video last week, Nintendo has revealed the release date for Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club. It will be available on the Nintendo Switch on August 29, 2024. Pre-order is available now.
This new entry in the Famicom Detective Club series introduces a mystery surrounding an urban legend known as the Smiling Man, who is said to appear to young women and offer them a paper bag with a smile on it for their lives.
In “Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club,” a student is discovered dead in a horrifying manner, with a paper bag featuring an eerie smiling face covering his head. This disturbing image closely resembles a key clue in a series of unsolved murders from 18 years ago, as well as Emio (the Smiling Man), a legendary killer who supposedly gives his victims “a smile that will last forever.”
Assume the role of an assistant private investigator at the Utsugi Detective Agency, where your mission is to aid the police in solving this crime. Throughout your investigation, carefully examine the clues and testimonies you collect for any links to the gruesome events from the past.
Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club marks the first new story in the Famicom Detective Club series in 35 years. This title follows the earlier entries in the series, “Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir” and “Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind,” both of which were recently remade for the Nintendo Switch.
As mentioned, the release date of Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is on August 29, 2024 and will be available on Nintendo Switch.
