Highly anticipated RPG Elden Ring will apparently have VR support, according to the game’s PSN listing.
The game’s listings have begun to appear on PSN and Steam, letting fans wishlist the game ahead of its release on January 21st of next year.
However, some fans have noticed that the game’s PSN page in particular mentions that Elden Ring would have VR support. According to the page, it will be playable using the PSVR headset, as well as with the motion controller.
Considering the Steam page makes no mention of VR, chances are it’s just going to be playable using the screens from the headset, rather than a dedicated VR mode. At best, we could probably expect it to be used for camera controls.
VR isn’t that drastic a leap for the Soulsborne genre- Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne both featured motion control support, which is largely considered the stepping stone to VR. In both games you could hold a button then move your controller to perform certain gestures, as opposed to opening the menus to do them.
Still, with games like Resident Evil 7 having built-in VR support, it’s interesting to see how many titles have begun adopting it without basing their entire games around it.
Elden Ring has been one of the most anticipated games in recent years, with fans chomping at the bit for any news about From Software’s latest dark fantasy RPG.
