The memes are finally over, as Elden Ring announces its release date at Summer Game Fest 2021! Elden Ring is set for a 21 January 2022 release date for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC via Steam. The official Twitter has a link to its official landing page, but at time of writing, it’s giving an error. Oops. But hey, the account has finally updated something since it went silent in 2019! All you get is just a call out to you, “Rise, Tarnished”, and off you go, we suppose!
Elden Ring has been subject to a lot of buzz, leaks and memes over the years, with concept art and clips being thrown around the internet. From the original commentary at its initial reveal:
Hidetaka Miyazaki, President of FromSoftware
Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the Elden Ring mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration. The team is working hard to ensure that the world of Elden Ring will be a fascinating place for players to explore, filled with peril and wonder from its furthest reaches to its lowest depths. This is a FromSoftware title through and through, rich in fantasy and RPG action. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.
George R.R Martin, author of “A Song of Ice and Fire” series
Building the world of Elden Ring with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat! The graphics, mythos, and action-RPG gameplay will deliver an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait for people to see what Elden Ring has in store for them.
