Bandai Namco has revealed that a network test for the highly anticipated Elden Ring: Nightreign will take place in February. Players interested in participating can begin registration on January 10 through the game’s official website.
The network test will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, with no current information about a PC version of the test. According to the official site, the network test serves as a preliminary verification process where selected players will experience a portion of the game while allowing developers to conduct extensive technical checks on online systems.
Unveiled at The Game Awards 2024, Elden Ring: Nightreign introduces a cooperative gameplay element that allows multiple players to battle bosses together. The game is scheduled for release in 2025 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.
This upcoming title comes on the heels of the original Elden Ring’s massive success. Released in February 2022, the game has shipped over 25 million copies, marking From Software’s most significant commercial achievement to date.
The gaming community’s anticipation is further fueled by recent developments surrounding From Software. Additionally, this summer, Hidetaka Miyazaki mentioned external interest in potentially adapting Elden Ring into a film, and there are ongoing talks about Sony potentially acquiring Kadokawa Corporation, From Software’s parent company.
Players interested in the network test should mark their calendars for the registration opening on January 10 and keep an eye on the game’s official website for further details.
