From Software have just released the patch notes for Patch 1.03 for Elden Ring, which includes huge changes to the game including some previously unfinished NPC quests.
Patch 1.03 for Elden Ring sees the addition of a new NPC, named Jar-Bairn, as well as new phases for various NPC quests such as Kenneth Haight and Nepheli Loux.
These NPCs were previously speculated to get updated quests, following the abrupt end of the events in the launch version of the game.
Here’s the full list of NPCs getting updated quests in this patch:
- Diallos
- Nepheli Loux
- Kenneth Haight
- Gatekeeper Gostoc.
In addition to that From Software also says they’ll be adding a new NPC tracker- while not a full on quest checklist, they describe it as follows:
Added a function to record an icon and the name of an NPC on the map when you encounter that NPC.
Finally, the patch is also bringing big balance changes with it, likely following community feedback.
The biggest winner from these changes come in the form of sorcery builds, as sorceries have almost been unilaterally buffed with lower FP costs and faster cast times.
This does come at a cost though- Hoarfrost Stomp and the Mimic Tear, two items praised for being overpowered, have seen nerfs and have had their damage adjusted accordingly.
