Earlier this week, WAU Animation, the studio behind Ejen Ali, has requested fans not to create porn and explicit fan art of the characters. Ejen Ali is one of Malaysia’s most popular animated series, featuring a mostly teenage cast of Malaysians who embark on spy missions.
On November 22, the official Ejen Ali Twitter account made the following statement:
A reminder to fellow Ejens from MATA HQ:
Let's keep the fandom as a safe place for everyone.

According to the announcement, Ejen Ali fan artists who had created extremely explicit fan art have been addressed directly. Only time will tell whether this will actually curb the creation of Ejen Ali porn fan art.
As with almost any kind of popular media, explicit fan art is more or less a given in today’s current day and age of the internet. In most Western and Japanese animated series, studios typically roll with it. A year ago, Studio Khara published guidelines on fan art, requesting fans not to create pornographic works of Neon Genesis Evangelion, an anime series that debuted back in 1995.
As for Ejen Ali, it is one of the hottest local shows at the moment, with a Disney+ release panned for next year as well as 3rd season soon to be on their way. The popular series even spawned a few mobile games.
