Ego Effect, a game announced earlier by Netease Games in the year at their Netease Connect 2021 event, has received a launch date for 23 September 2021. As expected, this is a mobile title, and pre-registrations are presently open. The milestone numbers are pretty modest, going up to 180,000, where players can get an assortment of materials as well as an SR unit.
With the main story written by Yukinori Kitajima – 428: Shibuya Scramble, Senran Kagura – Ego Effect will be an ensemble drama depicting thirteen individuals who find themselves in a future with highly developed artificial intelligence. From the preview images, it employs the use of 3D models and is a turn-based RPG. “Break” the enemy by targetting their weak points and unleash your skills!
Besides the game itself, Ego Effect also has a manga in partnership with Kadokawa that was planned for publication prior to its launch to build up hype, though for the most part it doesn’t look to have gained much traction. If you are interested in the character designs and such though, it won’t be too long before it becomes available, so you can give it a shot and judge it for yourself. Check out the game’s official website and Twitter for further updates.
