Nacon and Midgar Studio have officially announced Edge of Memories, a new Japanese-style RPG coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. The game serves as a sequel to 2021’s Edge of Eternity and features an impressive development team including industry veterans from several beloved franchises.
The project brings together notable talent including Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda, NieR lyricist Emi Evans, Xenoblade Chronicles character designer Raita Kazama, and Final Fantasy XV combat designer Mitsuru Yokoyama. Edge of Memories continues the saga in the world of Heyron, where a devastating plague called the Corrosion has either killed inhabitants or transformed them into “misshapen abominations.”

Players will take on the role of Eline, a traveling Soul Whisperer who battles against this plague on the continent of Avaris, a region previously spared from the horrors that ravaged the Astryan continent.
The game promises intense real-time combat where players can string together combos by alternating between rapid strikes and powerful techniques. Party members will play a crucial role in battle strategy, with customizable companions offering skills that can be deployed at critical moments. Players can also trigger a Berserker transformation to deliver devastating attacks and execute enemies.

The developers emphasize that Edge of Memories will deliver a focused narrative experience where “every quest matters,” adding depth to the story and character relationships without unnecessary filler content. No release date has been announced at this time.
