Folks from Larian Studios took to the stage of The PC Gaming Show at E3 2019 to talk Baldur’s Gate 3. A teaser trailer for the game was announced a few days ago.
Larian Studios is the team behind the Divinity: Original Sin games and has shown that it has experience making RPGs like this. Through Larian Studios, the Baldur’s Gate series is revived with the new Baldur’s Gate 3.
Swen Vincke, the founder of Larian Studios, promised that we’ll see iconic monsters such as mind flayers. During his talk in The PC Gaming Show, he also mentioned that the game was based on the 5th edition of the D&D player handbook.
In a Gamespot interview, Vincke also confirmed that the game will be a new entry. “There will obviously be references to everything that happened in the first and the second, but this is very much its own story,” he said.
Another piece of news that was shared is the prequel tabletop game tied to Baldur’s Gate 3. It will be available in September 2019 and will serve as a means to tell players about what’s going on in the new game, which takes place 100 years after the second game.
There will also be a tabletop game that will serve as a prequel for Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s out in September and will help give players an idea of what’s happening in the world, which is set 100 years after Baldur’s Gate 2.
