Netflix has announced the release date for Dynasty Warriors arrival on its platform, the movie based off of Koei Tecmo’s legendary franchise of the same name.
Dynasty Warriors releases on Netflix on July 1st, though there’s been no mention on if any regions would be getting it later or earlier.
Based on the romance of the Three Kingdoms, the trailer has all the fixings of a Dynasty Warrior games, from over-the-top action sequences, laughably large crowds of soldiers as well as famous Chinese heroes like Lu Bu performing what can only be described as a mass culling of enemy ranks.
Other heroes like Guan Yu also appear in the trailer, as well as Lu Bu’s iconic horse, Red Hare.
Thankfully, the movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, embracing all the silliness that’s made Dynasty Warriors such an enduring property, even including shots of people falling from the sky after characters do their big musou attacks.
While the movie had previously released in April, this would be the first the movie gets shown outside of China. The added convenience of being able to watch it at home also means you’ll actually get to see it, instead of waiting for Covid restrictions to let up.
