As some of us might know, Durango: Wild Lands by Nexon has garnered a huge community of fans which can be seen on their official Facebook page with over 150,000 followers. The game that has been running its beta tests last year has now come out with a launch date! Nexon has stated the official launch of Durango: Wild Lands on the 25th of January in South Korea. Its planned release for global including North America is slated to be within this year.

Apparently, the game that has been developed for 5 1/2 years by Nexon’s in-house studio, What!Studio. The development team was led by Lee Eun-seok who previously directed 2004’s Mabinogi. With over 2,800,000 downloads since the beta, we can see how much work has been put into the game which garnered such interests from players of over 152 countries worldwide!
“Our goal is to make ‘Durango’ a globally successful game — one that goes beyond the limits of Asia to the rest of the world,” said Lee Eun-seok, head producer of Nexon’s What!Studio during the game’s media showcase event held in Seoul on Jan. 9.
Nexon hopes that their upcoming mobile game will be able to sustain and continue to remain in service for the next 10 years. As a mobile sandbox MMORPG, the game has plenty of possibilities which will probably be able to entertain the millions of players out there. Features like base building, weapon crafting, dinosaur domination and clan battles will connect players from around the world to bring the best experiences for a survival sandbox MMORPG.
