Drodo’s Auto Chess: Origin, arguably the one that popularized the auto chess genre, will be heading to Nintendo Switch in 2020!
For the uninitiated, Auto Chess: Origin features units on a board. Your units can be upgraded, be equipped with items and will battle on their own against your opponent. You’ll have to find unit synergies while battling against others who want the same units! How will you manage if your strategy is countered? There is much depth to be had in such an easy to pick up, hard to master game. There are many versions of the genre out there: Dota Underlords, or Chess Rush, to name two.
The Switch version appears to be getting several features which may also be seen soon on current platforms:
- In-game voice chat for pair players
- 4 v 4 mode
- Tournament function
- 32 / 64 players go head to head, matched according to rank
- Match replay
- Item availability, combinations to be rebalanced
What do you think? What’s your preferred way to play auto chess games?
