NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer (NBCUIN & DTC), has today announced a deal with television service Astro to launch DreamWorks in Malaysia, a 24-hour channel dedicated to kids and family entertainment.
The channel will be available from February 1st, 2023, on Channel 612. DreamWorks will be offered in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Chinese language options, as part of the Kids Pack.
DreamWorks will provide kids and families with hours of entertainment, featuring award-winning, original television series such as Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, and The Boss Baby: Back in Business. The channel also presents a daily morning preschool block, DreamWorks Junior, for two to five-year-olds featuring favorites such as Noddy Toyland Detective and Dragons: Rescue Riders.
Also available on Unifi in Malaysia, the launch of DreamWorks on Astro marks a significant expansion and demand for the brand in the region, with DreamWorks reaching more than 50 million households across 100 countries to date.
To celebrate the launch of DreamWorks on Astro, the pay-TV service is offering a 15-day preview of DreamWorks (on Channel 622) to all eligible Astro customers from January 15th – 31st, 2023.
Dreamworks is a studio known for its popular animated family movies including Shrek, How To Train Your Dragon, and most recently: Puss In Boots: The Last Wish.
DreamWorks will move to Astro Channel 612 on February 1, 2023.
