Pre-ordering either edition will grant players the Superior Weapons Quartet bonus equipment to assist them in the early progressions.
Meanwhile, purchasing the Deluxe Edition will grant players a whole slew of helpful consumables early on, and pre-ordering said Edition also provides the aforementioned Superior Weapons Quartet as well as the Ring of Assurance accessory.
Other Reveals
In the showcase livestream co-hosted by director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, there is plenty of other information revealed about the game including new adversaries to face and more.
Story & Side Quests
As revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2023, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will take place in two major regions, the human kingdom Vermund and the land of beastren, Battahl.
The narrative of the game will center around the power struggle for the throne with players caught between the wildly different beliefs of two nations.
To have her son take the throne, the Queen Regent Disa of Vermund plots to set a false Arisen while the beastren nation of Battahl treats Pawns as the source of misfortune.
Instead, the beatren nation worships the Lambent Flame as a way to ward off calamity, and Empress Nadinia is the land’s central figure.
Aside from the main story, sidequests were also showcased, revealing that the choice of Pawns will be far more important this time around as some of them can help interpret languages that Arisens are not familiar with, such as the Elven tongue.
New Vocation – Trickster
The Trickster is a new support-focused vocation that is exclusive to the Arisen and wields the Censer.
This vocation specializes in utilizing smoke produced by the Censer to conjure up illusions to confuse enemies in battle, or power up Pawns with buffs.
New Monsters
In the sequel, Arisens will also be facing new adversaries including the giant Talos which was revealed for the first time in the showcase.
Other than the gigantic Talos, Capcom also revealed the return of the hardy Drakes, smaller cousins of the titular dragons. Then, there is the Dullahan, the headless spectral knights from Irish folklore.
As mentioned, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to march its way into the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam on March 22, 2024.
