Dragon’s Dogma 2, the highly anticipated sequel developed by Capcom is potentially receiving a demo soon, according to an update on Steam.
A log from the SteamDB changelist has shown that an unknown app has been included in the package for Dragon’s Dogma 2 as a backend change from 4 days ago.
Upon inspecting the appID, the name of the app itself is only titled as sub 958296, but the billing type is classified as Free on Demand, which is the typical designation given to most Steam demos, as reported by PCGamesN.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to pick up on the changes, with a Reddit user quickly sharing the change and speculating that a demo was coming for Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Even though nothing has been officially confirmed, it would not be a surprise for Capcom to release a demo for Dragon Dogma 2, as they have been known for having demos for their big title releases, such as for the Resident Evil series and Monster Hunter series.
The sequel to the 2012 action role-playing hack and slash was announced during its 10th anniversary in a digital livestream event, a decade after the first game was released. The game is directed by Hideaki Itsuno, who helmed the first original title as well as directing multiple games in the Devil May Cry series.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is slated to launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on March 22nd, 2024.
