Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince Reveals New Story and Character Details

Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince has revealed new details about its story and main characters.

The most notable of the details is that the game will star Psaro, one of the central villains of Dragon Quest IV before he became an all-powerful demon lord.

The story of Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince is that Prince Psaro (VA Gwilym Lee) is cursed by his father, the ruler of the monster realm of Nadiria so that he can no longer hurt any creature of monster blood. In defiance of this, Psaro becomes a Monster Wrangler so that he may build up an army of monsters to get revenge on his father.

He is joined by two companions on his journey: an elvish woman named Rose (VA Emma Valentine) and a mysterious magic researcher named Toilen Trouble (VA Hyoie O’Grady). A creature named Fizzy (VA Harriet Carmichael) also joins them and acts as a mentor figure for Psaro in the art of Monster Wrangling. Together they adventure into the land of Nadiria.

Being a part of the Dragon Quest Monsters sub-series, the game focuses on recruiting different monsters from across the series. The Dark Prince will reportedly feature over 500 different creatures. The game is also confirmed to have online capabilities that will allow players to battle their monsters against others.

Three new monsters have also been confirmed for the game:

Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince will launch for the Nintendo Switch on the 1st of December 2024.
