Following the recent teaser for the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, the game reappeared in today’s Nintendo Direct once again but now with a set release date.
As announced, the highly anticipated Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake now has a release date of November 14, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
In addition, Square Enix also announced that both Dragon Quest I & II will also receive a HD-2D remake, slated for 2025.
As you may know, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake was announced over three years ago during the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary Special Livestream in 2021.
The remake is being developed by AMATA K.K., the developers behind Last Labyrinth and The Tale of Onogoro, as well as Team Asano of the OCTOPATH TRAVELER and Bravely Default series.
If you are unaware, Dragon Quest III chronologically took place at the beginning of the first three titles, and follow the player hero character Erdick, as they recruit companions and journey to defeat villain Baramos.
This remake will be utilizing the HD-2D art style that Square Enix and Team Asano have been using for a number of titles including the OCTOPATH TRAVELER series, and Triangle Strategy.
