DRAGON BALL Sparking Zero, the first sequel to the Budokai Tenkaichi series in 15 years had achieved an incredible milestone of having 3 million copies of the game sold in just 24 hours. This information was revealed in an official announcement by publisher Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft.
The game launched back in October 11 to a staggering and sparkling reception as we have previously covered here. In it, we have shared that Sparking Zero’s playerbase numbers has overtaken past the peak player counts of Dragon Ball games of past such as Fighterz (44,303), Z Kakarot (25,852) and Xenoverse 2 (19,416) by a landslide and it still rings true. At the time of publishing this article, the game is still amassing around 60,000 to 70,000 players in the last 24 hours.
To provide additional context for Sparking! Zero’s success, on Steam, Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 reached a peak player count of 70,573, while NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1 peaked at 38,129 players. However, it is worth noting that Sony and Microsoft have not revealed the number of sales on their side so we are not sure what the actual sales count is for the game.
