Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is experiencing an unexpected surge of players actively playing the game currently and the one thing that’s most surprising regarding this outcome is that the game has had a very strong active playerbase even during their early access launch. The game’s early access by the way, was only exclusively available for players who pre-ordered the game’s Deluxe or Ultimate Editions but even then it reached upwards to 100,000 players. Once the game had launched, the game’s all-time peak active players are sitting at more than 120,000 players.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero hit the sweet spot for fans of the classic Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series as they have been waiting a long, long time for a modern sequel, and now it is here and the reception has been booming.
The latest DBZ video game entry is bringing back the fast-paced, 3D fighting gameplay that the series is known for with huge amounts of fanservice that players loved in the old games together with updated graphics and a numerous cast of playable characters from Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and the DBZ movies to choose from.
Sparking Zero’s playerbase numbers has overtaken past the peak player counts of Dragon Ball games of past such as Fighterz (44,303), Z Kakarot (25,852) and Xenoverse 2 (19,416) by a landslide and the game is not even out for more than a day yet. It’s pretty major when you compare it to other major fighting game franchises, too. Street Fighter 6 had a peak player count of 70,573 over a year ago. When Sparking Zero was going through Early Access, even the playerbase count reached tens of thousands which is wild to comprehend.
