Dragon Ball Legends has just unveiled their plans for a campaign revolved around the original Dragon Ball Saga.
Dragon Ball Legends is looking to revisit the roots of the Dragon Ball franchise, with the official Dragon Ball Legends Twitter account announcing a campaign that focuses on Goku’s early adventures, before all the multiversal threats.
The announcement has garnered an overall positive reaction from fans, as the Dragon Ball Saga hasn’t received any representation in game for years.
As with most celebrations, we can expect to receive Zenkai Awakenings, a LEGENDS LIMITED character, and potentially an ULTRA character.
Potential Characters (Editorial)
The trailer seems to be indicating new characters from the climax of the fight between Kid Goku and Demon King Piccolo, but if we take a look at previous Episode Campaign trailers, things may not always be as it seems.
They might decide to take a page out of Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle’s book (which they have in the past), and revolve the campaign around the 23rd World Tournament Finals, where Goku and Piccolo Jr had their first encounter, which currently has no representation in Dragon Ball Legends.
Either option would have a similar effect on the meta, with the timeless Saiyan team receiving yet another buff from Kid Goku/Goku, and Demon King Piccolo/Piccolo Jr. providing much needed help to the largely neglected Regeneration team.
In terms of Zenkai Awakenings, potential candidates include [GRN] Wasteland Bandit Yamcha, [RED] Launch, and [PUR] Demon King Piccolo (Aged).
They all sport Z-Abilities that buff “Episode: Dragon Ball Saga”, which fits the theme of the campaign, and will provide buffs to the upcoming characters.
Expect a Legends Limited character to be released on Wed, September 13th, and potentially an ULTRA soon after.
Dragon Ball Legends is available globally on iOS & Android devices.
