Dragon Ball DAIMA, a new Dragon Ball series was just announced, alongside a new trailer which showcases the return of the cast.
Dragon Ball DAIMA was announced at New York Comic Con to commemorate Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary, and is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2024.
The series will feature a brand new original story, with Akira Toriyama, the original creator, handling the story and character design.
A trailer was also shown, where an unknown character seemingly used the Dragon Balls to revert the ages of the cast, turning Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, Chi-Chi, and more into children.
The premise is somewhat reminiscent of the one in Dragon Ball GT (1996), where a wish was made to revert Goku back into a child, and he has to set off to new worlds to regain his original body.
Fans have been waiting years for a new Dragon Ball series since the end of Dragon Ball Super in 2024, with the last animated work of Dragon Ball being Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero that was released in 2022.
Dragon Ball Super’s manga is currently ongoing on Weekly Shonen Jump, with no plans announced to adapt the original story arcs being announced.
