Dr Stone mobile game announced

A Dr Stone mobile game has been announced, to be developed by Poppin Games. The project has no title as of yet, but is scheduled for release in 2021. As is usually the case, it will be a free to play title with in-app purchases. The mobile game is said to be some “full-scale strategy” game with elements from Dr Stone, with crafting and battles. It doesn’t really tell us anything, but their brief news post does show some assets from the game:

We can probably safely assume it’s an RPG of some sort with simulation elements. An official website and related Twitter should be coming closer to whenever the game should be out. And yes, it will only be available in Japan at this point. For the unfamiliar, read on for a summary on the manga / anime series:

Several millennia later, Taiju awakens to find the modern world completely nonexistent, as nature has flourished in the years humanity stood still. Among a stone world of statues, Taiju encounters one other living human: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Taiju learns that Senkuu has developed a grand scheme—to launch the complete revival of civilization with science. Taiju’s brawn and Senkuu’s brains combine to forge a formidable partnership, and they soon uncover a method to revive those petrified.

However, Senkuu’s master plan is threatened when his ideologies are challenged by those who awaken. All the while, the reason for mankind’s petrification remains unknown.
