After five years, the Dr. Stone manga has officially ended with chapter 232 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine issue #14.
Written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, Dr. Stone was first published five years ago on the exact date of March 6th. The series received a front page and the main color page in Weekly Shoujo Jump Magazine Issue #13 — a week before its final chapter was released.
During its’ five years of publishing, Dr. Stone witnessed his great success. Since its release, the series has received 16 front pages in Weekly Shonen Jump, 26 manga volumes, 12 million copies of the manga and anime adaptations.
The anime series was first announced in the 51st edition of Weekly Shonen Jump in November 2019. Since then, the anime Dr. Stone has become increasingly popular and will receive a third season in 2023.
The special anime titled ‘Dr. Stone Ryusui’, which takes place after the Stone Wars Arc centering on Ryusui will be screened this summer. In addition, a bonus chapter will also be published before the Ryusui anime airs.
The story of Dr. Stone is that on a destined day, all mankind has turned to stone. Thousands of years later, a young high school boy named Taiju was freed from his stone casing and found himself surrounded by stone statues. His situation looks bleak until he reunites with his science-loving friend, Senku. Together, they plan to restore civilization with the power of science.
