Doublelift’s Brother Murdered Mother and Seriously Injured Father

“Doublelift”, aka Yiliang Peng, Team Liquid’s AD carry for the League of Legends, had received grim news regarding the death of his mother and seriously injured father by his own elder brother, Yihong Peng. The father was reportedly in stable condition now while his elder brother now arrested and charged for the murder.

In a post earlier by Yiliang Peng on his Twitter confirmed the news along with a message:

“This weekend I received some terrible news,” Doublelift said in a Twitlonger post Sunday. “My older brother attacked both of my parents with a knife. As a result of this attack, my mom passed away and my dad was seriously hurt and is now recovering in hospital.

“I’m still processing this news and joining up with my dad and little brother to make sure they’re ok and the proper arrangements are being made. I’ll likely be quiet on social media while I work through this. I hope you all understand and support me as you always have in the past.”

Based on reports from the Orange County Sheriff, Yiliang Peng’s mother, Wei Ping Shen, 59, was stabbed with a knife while the father, Guojon Peng, was critically injured and transported to a local hospital. The brother was charged with murder and is currently being held at the Orange County Jail with a $1,000,000 bail. The court hearing will be scheduled on Monday and police are investigating on the motive behind the incident.

Doublelift being one of the most popular League of Legends players in North America has many fans supporting him through this difficult time. As Team Liquid is scheduled to appear in the North American League Championship Series Spring Split Final in Miami this April 8th, it will be a difficult time for Doublelift to focus for the upcoming matches.
