Just last week Thursday (16th August, 2018) the TI8 Group Stage event kicked off which lasted four days and ended this morning 20th August, 2018. The last match of the Group Stage event ended with the Tie Breaker match that will segregate teams playing in the Upper Bracket and the Lower Bracket for the Main Event.

Below are the scores for the Group Stage event:
Group A
Group B
With the top 4 teams that scored the highest in Group A and Group B, they will be put into the Upper Bracket in the Main Event. While the remaining 10 teams will be playing against each other in the Lower Bracket which will eventually allow them to play towards the Grand Finals and be the Champion of TI8. The Main Event will start on the 21st August, 2018 with 2 matches of the Upper Bracket starting simultaneously.

Based on the rules of TI8 Main Event, the teams placed 5th from Group Stage A & B will pick their opponents from the opposite group that are placed 7th or 8th. With two teams now remaining which are Invictus Gaming and paiN Gaming, they will be playing against the 6th place in each group.
Currently the total prize pool have exceeded last year’s TI7’s prize pool at $24,802,634 (MYR 101,777,608)! Last year’s TI7 was only at $24,787,916 (MYR 101,717,213) which is about $23,000 less compared to the current amount! There’s still about 5 more days till the Main Event is over so the final prize pool amount could go even higher.
