Doraemon Story of Seasons will be available on PS4 come 30 July for Japan at 6,100 yen according to the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu. The title, as published by Bandai Namco, has been available for the Nintendo Switch in June 2019 for Japan, later receiving a worldwide release on both the Nintendo Switch and PC Steam versions in October 2019.
Bandai Namco producer Kenji Nakajima revealed in an interview with Famitsu, saying that when development on Doraemon Story of Seasons began, fans had mentioned they wanted to play the game on the PS4 too. He added that the company is also considering free updates for both the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions.
Likewise, Marvelous director Hikaru Nakano mentions that the company is “currently preparing new developments following Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.” Development partner Brownies’ Shouhei Yamashita has said that, “While there are some hurdles in porting to another platform, we have overcome the big ones.”
If you’ve been thinking about obtaining Doraemon Story of Seasons but had been uninterested in the platforms offered so far, you can read our review of it here first. It’s at least giving more options to people to play (and maybe speak like Doraemon, but you didn’t hear that from us). No release date for the English version has been mentioned.
