The Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins release date has finally been announced. Kaigan Games’ newest licensed title is based on the long-running Doctor Who franchise.
The game will release on March 19th for Android, iOS and Steam. Similar to their previous game Simulacra, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins will be a “found-phone” type game, where players will roleplay having found a phone and being contacted to solve mysteries about the Weeping Angels.
The game will also be available at a special launch discount of 25% off, so fans of either Doctor Who or Simmulacra will want to get in early if they want to save some money.
In addition to the release date announcement, the game is also now open for pre-registration, allowing you to help developers gauge interest in the game ahead of its launch next month.
As reported when the game was first announced, the game is fully licensed by BBC, and will even feature appearances by characters from the long-running TV show.
Players will have to deal with the Weeping Angels- powerful aliens who only exist when you’re not looking at them. Once you look at them, however, they turn into statues.
The game’s premise is right in Kaigan games wheelhouse, after the release of Simulacra and Sara is missing. However, working on a licensed game is a big first for the studio, and it’s extra good to know that Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins finally has a release date.
