Dubbed Disney+ Hotstar, the service has partnered up with Hotstar, a popular Indian streaming site, the platform will bring all of the popular Disney+ exclusives such as the various TV series based off of the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Wandavision and Captain Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as well as shows like The Mandalorian.
The service will also be available for Astro subscribers in Malaysia, as part of the Astro Movie Pack. Although Astro is primarily known for their cable service, the website says you’ll also be able to stream it on your laptops and mobile devices, so customers of the platform won’t have to worry about losing out on portability.
The Disney+ Malaysia price starts at RM54.90 for 3 months, with a release date of June 1st. On top of Disney’s own originals like Frozen, Aladdin and Hamilton, the platform will also host local content such as Ejen Ali, Zombitopia and KL Special Force.
Disney+ Malaysia, A Hotly Anticipated Announcement
There has been a lot of rampant speculation about the arrival of Disney’s streaming service in Malaysia, especially after reports that they were pulling their channels off of cable services in the region. Although Disney+ had a big announcement when it first debuted in the US, other territories have been slow in receiving the service.
Considering the large amount of interest in Disney+ ever since the success of shows like Wandavision, many fans are going to be excited to be able to legally watch the shows here.
