2K has revealed the latest entry to the Mafia franchise, Mafia: The Old Country which is slated to release in 2025. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
Mafia: The Old Country will be taking players back to the early 1900s, specifically to Sicily, to explore the roots of organized crime. Developer Hangar 13 is aiming to return to the series’ roots with a focus on storytelling and authenticity. Check out the teaser trailer below.
Premise
Uncover the origins of organized crime with a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Fight to survive in this dangerous and unforgiving era, with action that authentically brings realism and rich storytelling to life, hallmarks of the critically acclaimed Mafia series.
Since its debut in 2002 with the iconic game Mafia, the franchise has achieved over 34 million sales across consoles and PC. Critics and fans widely celebrate the series for its strong narrative focus, exceptional performances, and meticulous attention to detail in its historically accurate settings.
This return to the roots of the Mafia series aims to captivate both long-time fans and new players seeking a compelling, narrative-driven experience in the world of organized crime. 2K Games has mentioned during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 that they will be revealing more details in December.
