American video game retailer GameStop has listed the release date for Digimon Survive, a title that is constantly delayed, on its website. According to the retailer, the game’s release date is December 31, 2022.
GameStop is not the only retailer that provided a release date for Digimon Survive, even Walmart has done the same for the game. Instead of December 31, 2022, Walmart listed it a whole 6 months earlier at June 30, 2022.
It goes without saying that these are most definitely placeholder dates—Bandai Namco has not provided a specific release date for the game. Also, note the lack of cover art for the game, as well as the ESRB rating. It was recently confirmed that Digimon Survive will have an ESRB rating of T for Teen.
As a result, we strongly advise those who wish to purchase or preorder Digimon Survive to be extra careful of where they plan to get the game from. Given the current lack of information surrounding the game, it’s best to wait for more details from Bandai Namco. Digimon Con will be happening next year on February 26, 2022 and chances are, any information or announcement regarding Digimon Survive will be made there.
While English-speaking fans have no choice but to wait for Digimon Survive, word of a new China-exclusive Digimon game, Digimon: Source Code has already been announced.
