After years of delays, Digimon Survive finally has an official release date of July 28th, 2022 in Japan.
This was revealed in the latest issue of the Japanese magazine V-Jump, which was reported by Japanese Blogger Ryokutya2089. The game was initially revealed in 2018 however has been delayed multiple times from its original 2019 release date.
Throughout 2021, Digimon Survive had appeared on multiple rating boards from around the world implying that it was near completion before being showcased at the Digimon Con live stream event, albeit still with no release date. That all changes now though.
Here is an official synopsis of Digimon Survive:
“This is a story of survival in a strange new world.
Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Digimon Anime, Digimon Survive presents a brand-new adventure set in a mysterious world with characters designed by Uichi Ukumo, and music by the much-acclaimed Tomoki Miyoshi.
Digimon Survive sees a brand-new group of teenagers, led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip, finding them transported to a strange new world of monsters and danger.
As they fight their way back home through an animated world of difficult decisions and deadly battles, players’ choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies and the final ending. Battles in the game are fought in 2D, in a more classic SRPG style.”
Digimon Survive will be released for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on July 28th, 2022 in Japan and one day later on July 29th for global audiences.
