Habu acknowledges and thanks fans for their patience and says that this was not an easy decision but it was ultimately necessary so that the team have more development time to further enhance the quality of the game.
Digimon Survive was first announced in July 2018 as the newest installment in Digimon video games. The game is going to be a strategy game with survival and visual novel elements. The game revolves around a group of students in an activities camp over spring break which is transported to the digital world.
Now the group must survive not only the harsh environment, and lack of food, water, and shelter but also the monstrous Digimon that may attack. Of course, they have their own partner Digimon to help out as well.
Survive has been delayed several times since then, in part due to needing further development and partially due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The game has been spotted on several international rating boards over the past couple of months, suggesting that it may be nearer to completion. We can only hope that this will be the last delay and Digimon Survive really will see a 2022 release.
Digimon Survive is will be released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
