Digimon Card Game Announces New Project, And What It Could Mean For The TCG

Digimon Card Game has just released a new trailer hinting at a new project that will be making its debut in 2024.

It is currently unknown what this project will bring, nor do we have a name as the promotional material redacts the name.

The trailers have dropped several vague hints, with words like “Metaverse” and “For Freedom” being shown, along with the reveal of a new Digimon at the end of the trailer.

More details regarding the project will be announced sometime in December 2023.

What Could Be Announced [Editorial]

Most mainstream TCGs such as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh have online games, so it would make sense that the announcement would bring an online platform for players of the Digimon Card Game to enjoy.

The trailer shows off a lot of random words, one of them being the Metaverse, so it would be too far-fetched to assume that the announcement has social aspect to it, such as a new MMO with the Digimon Card Game worked into it.

Another possibility is a new original storyline made exclusively for the Digimon Card Game, which could also mean a new anime, acting similar to a modern equivalent of Digimon Tamers which included a lot of promotional material for the old TCG, which was made prior to the relaunch in 2020.

It could also follow in the footsteps of the Dragon Ball Super Card game and reboot.

Digimon will also be releasing a new movie soon, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, which will be releasing in Malaysia soon.
