Bandai has unveiled Digimon Liberator, a new webcomic series adaptation based on the trading card game of the Digimon franchise.
The serialization of Digimon Liberator is scheduled for spring 2024, and as mentioned, the webcomic or manga series will be based on the Digimon trading card game rather than the virtual pet toy the franchise is known for.
Not many details have been unveiled for the webcomic yet, but Bandai has announced that the next update will come in January 2024.
A new official website has also been launched to tease the new webcomic project and be updated with information as they are revealed.
On the official website, there are two characters, one male and one female, likely the protagonists of the webcomic, but their names and profiles are yet to be revealed.
Their Digimon partners were also shown on the website with no information revealed yet.
The promotional key visual heavily showcased the teenage boy in green with a Dromaeosaurid-like Digimon or raptor dinosaur in simpler terms, mirroring the series staple of having the main character partner up with a Therapod dinosaur-like Digimon such as the likes of Agumon and Guilmon.
Digimon Liberator was actually teased 2 months ago, but vague information back then led to many speculations on what the project could be, including a potentially new online game or a reboot of the card game, but now it is confirmed to be webcomic series.
