With the 2020 reboot of Digimon Adventure nearing its finale, Bandai appears to have dropped hints for a potential sequel. While there is no official announcement from both Bandai and Toei Animation, the former’s new Digimon product appears to be hinting at a sequel.
On Twitter, Wikimon brought attention to a Bandai’s new gashapon capsules. These capsules, when translated to English, read: “Digimon Adventure: Follow-up series/Sequel Roleplay Light Item”. They are currently available for pre-order and you can see the tweet in question below:
Pre-orders are available for "Digimon Adventure: Follow-up series/Sequel Roleplay Light Item" (デジモンアドベンチャー︰後番組 なりきりライトアイテム) gashapon capsules (set of 40; ¥300 per capsule), which are set to be released in October. There will be 6 varieties. pic.twitter.com/UH3trP7k5d

Alternatively, you can check out the product yourself on gacha store Chappy’s website.
However, the Japanese kanji used to describe the sequel can either refer to a direct sequel or a sequel of a different franchise. As a result, whether this means that the sequel will be a direct continuation of the events in Digimon Adventure 2020 or even a reboot for Digimon Adventure 02 still remains uncertain. There is also the possibility of a follow-up in the form of a different Digimon anime altogether, possibly Tamers.
Note that this is merely speculation. Only time will tell when Bandai clarifies this in the future.
Digimon Adventure 2020 just aired its 55th episode, showcasing its new ending theme from Kpop group ATEEZ. Its 56th and final episode is scheduled to air this Sunday, July 11, 2021 in Japan.
