This year, Digimon Adventure, the first anime series of the franchise that was first released in 1999, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
As the name implies, it is an anime series based on the Digital Monster virtual pet toys, with this season focusing on a group of kids transported into the Digital World and befriending several Digimon including the iconic Agumon and Gabumon, just to name a few.
Starting out as a film of the same name, Digimon Adventure began production 1.5 months after the movie was produced and began broadcast in Japan.
After release with great success, the anime received a sequel series Digimon Adventure 02 in 2000 and for the series’ 15th anniversary, the six-part film series Digimon Adventure tri. was released.
The original series later got a reboot under the same title in 2020, with Fuji TV now handling production instead of Toei Animation.
Previously, a livestream named Digimon Con 2024 was aired on the Digimon Partners official YouTube channel on 9 March 2024,
This livestream features various news about the franchise as well as celebrating the 25th anniversary of the anime’s first season.
