Yeah you heard that right folks! Blizzard’s Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, a major expansion update for the Diablo IV base game experience just had their live trailer released. Through it, we get to see a showcase of Neyrelle’s treacherous journey into Nahantu and her struggle with the power of the Soulstone. However, fans may recognise a familiar voice in the background as it features the global sensation, Camila Cabello’s singing prowess.
In the trailer, Camilla was covering a classic hit from 1971 titled “Behind Blue Eyes”, originally released by The Who. She commented, “I’m so excited to bring ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ to Sanctuary in a fresh, new way. We took the brilliant lyrics of the original song and transformed it with the dark tones of Diablo. Not only is this song a classic and a perfect representation of what Neyrelle is going through in Vessel of Hatred, but it’s also a song that so many can identify with. Working with the Diablo team was a legendary experience, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear how we’ve reimagined a classic.”
Blizzard were not pulling any punches as they had the visionary mind of Jon Watts, who got involved in The Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy to direct the live action trailer. Jon Watts enthusiastically mentioned, “I’ve been playing Diablo since I was a teen and know the world really well, so when they asked me to direct the project, I was all in,”.
Blizzard’s General Manager Rod Fergusson also stated that “Vessel of Hatred invites you to step into a world full of darkness and intrigue, and we are thrilled to have collaborated with such extraordinary talents to bring that world to life,” believing that the involvement of both Jon Watts and Camila Cabello, and the release of this live action trailer would be “harbinger of the adventure to come in Diablo IV’s first expansion”.
The expansion update for the latest entry of the Action RPG game, Diablo IV is set to be released on the 8th October 2025, introducing the new region of Nahantu and Spiritborn class to spice up the gameplay as players will delve deeper into searching for Neyrelle, who is both suffering the fate of her choice to imprison the Prime Evil Mephisto.
