Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the latest season of Diablo IV, Season of the Infernal Hordes, will launch on August 7, 2024. This new season introduces a wave-based challenge system and a host of new content for players to explore.
The upcoming season introduces several exciting features. Players can tackle the new wave-based Infernal Hordes challenge solo or cooperatively, choosing Infernal Offerings between waves to increase difficulty and rewards. In addition, at the end of each Infernal Hordes run, players will face the Fell Council, a randomly selected group of three out of five unique bosses.
Hellbreach Dungeons in the Seasonal Realm offer a preview of the Infernal Hordes experience, rewarding players with Burning Aether currency. Blizzard will introduce over 50 new Unique and Legendary items that will persist beyond the season’s end. Meanwhile, players can earn caches by defeating powerful enemies to progress through the season and unlock access to the Infernal Hordes feature. Additionally, a new Battle Pass will be available, featuring 28 free tiers and 62 premium tiers for players to work through.
Moreover, the Infernal Hordes feature will be accessible on both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, with slight differences in how players unlock it. Blizzard will integrate the Infernal Hordes into the Seasonal Questline on the Seasonal Realm, while Eternal Realm players can access it after they complete a brief questline at World Tier III.
Blizzard has incorporated feedback from the PC and Battle.net Public Test Realm (PTR) into the final version of Diablo IV Season of the Infernal Hordes. Furthermore, a developer Update Livestream is scheduled for August 1 at 11 a.m. PDT on Blizzard’s Twitch and YouTube channels, where the development team will provide more in-depth information about the Season of the Infernal Hordes.
